I cannot believe it, today three years ago this blog was created, Mary Okeke Reviews. Over 100 books read and reviewed, over 165 published posts, over 136 thousand page views. The Palm-Wine Drinkard by Amos Tutuola published in 1952 and The Concubine by Elechi Amadi published in 1966 being the most viewed. With 50% of my audience from the United States of America, the rest of my top audiences are from Spain, Nigeria, UK, France, Germany, Russia, India, Ghana and Ukraine. I am baffled.
Yaay! Congrats Mary!! Keep up the awesome work! God bless :)

The thing around your neck I didn't really dig. Americanah... 50% loved it. Half of a yellow sun? Amazing book but the movie was total crap!
Hello Miss J. Thank you for stopping by. Achebe is one of my favourite writers. I am yet to read Ghana Must Go, it got a lot of hype. I still wanna see Half of a yellow sun the movie though.
DeleteWith regard to Chinua Achebe's books, I highly enjoyed "Man of the People" and "No Longer at Ease".
Not sure if you like essays, if you do "The Education of a British Protected Child" is just awesome.

DeleteMary,
ReplyDeleteI've had this post flagged in my email since you sent it. I'm finally cleaning it out but couldn't delete this one without saying congratulations! This post also inspired me because Reading Has Purpose turned 5 this summer and I thought a post like this one was quite appropriate. It remains in draft form, along with about 20 others - haha! I'm sure you all about that. So even though I don't take a moment to comment on all of your posts, I see every single one of them! Congrats again!
Shannon, 5! Wow I read somewhere that if you survive 5 years in book blogging you are automatically considered book blog granny. So congrats. By the way, I too read all of yours. Happy 5 years anniversary!
