Belated Post; Reading Challenge

I know I started off 2016 posting reviews without any reading resolution made. I'd like to say it was because we began the new year on the road, beginning in Budapest to Bratislava ending in Vienna, pictures on Instagram, it was freezing cold and amazing at the same time.
The other reason is that I'm back to university getting a second degree, in Psychology. I am taking it a step at a time, most of you already know that I am a full time registered nurse. So, when I have my works (university work) submitted I try to take advantage of my free time to read more voraciously, therefore write and post as frequently as possible.

2016 reading challenge? I don't really have any in particular, I already ordered some books from England waiting to be read on my shelf. I like to place my order in time, they can take a while to arrive and the idea of not having any unread novel on my shelf is just
distressful. I like to have them lined up on my shelf and look at them from time to time, it gives me some sort of joy.

Books waiting to be read on my shelf?
  • Ama by Manu Herbstein (been there for a while, I really need to pick it up soon)
  • Yo soy Malala by  Malala Yousafzai (I am Malala in Spanish), yes I am very fluent in Spanish
  • Allah is not Obliged by Ahmadou Kourouma
  • Bitter Leaf by Chioma Okereke
  • The in-between world of Vikram Lall by M.G Vassanji
  • The Book of Negros by Lawrence Hill
  • Palace Walk by Naguib Mahfouz
I also accepted to read an electronic copy of Madam's Maid & Other Stories by Ayibu Makolo sent to me by author. For review policy please click here.

As a good psychology student, we couldn't leave Vienna without visiting Sigmund Freud (founder of Psychoanalysis) museum in Vienna, his former office and apartment. It was more than interesting and I was so excited. Please click here for more information about the museum.

I look forward to hearing from you and thank you (always) for reading.

  2. Ironically, I picked up Lawrence Hill's The Illegal yesterday. It's set in Africa.

  3. I like your TBR. I have another book by Ahmadou Kourouma called 'Waiting For The Wild Beasts to Vote'. I hope to read it soon. I look forward to the Allah Is Not Obliged review!

    1. Darkowaa, "waiting for the wild beast to vote" was a difficult read for me, I still have it on my shelf. It was just too much in terms of how disorganised the concepts were, I was not able to keep up with them... perhaps in the future if I pick it up again I might have a better understanding.

"Allah is not obliged" is a different case, I am highly enjoying it! Still have a lot more to read before I am done! :-)
